Tilbage i februar kastede vi et kig på hvem diverse draft-eksperter havde Jets til at tage i deres mock drafts... nu må det være på tide at kigge igen.
Jeg forsøger så vidt muligt at bringe de samme eksperter igen, så vi kan se om de har ændret mening siden sidst.
NFL Draft Countdown: Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech - sidste gang: Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Braylon Edwards will be playing on a one-year deal in 2010 so it’s still unclear whether or not he has a long-term future with the team. Even if you make the assumption that Edwards will be around for a while the Jets could still use another playmaker in the passing game. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more impressive physical specimen at the wide receiver position in this class than Georgia Tech’s Demaryius Thomas, who checks in at 6-3¼ and 224 pounds and reportedly runs in the high-4.3’s. However, there is a lot of projection involved with Thomas’ evaluation and he is still quite raw after playing in a triple-option system with the Rambling Wreck. Still, Thomas has the talent to potentially develop into a true #1 wideout in the NFL and it sounds as though some team will pluck him off the board at some point late in the first round or very early in the second. During last year's draft the Jets unsuccessfully attempted to trade back into the first round for Percy Harvin and if they wanted a player with that sort of versatile skillset Notre Dame’s Golden Tate might be a good fit as well. New York could also use a defensive end for their 3-4 scheme such as Jared Odrick of Penn State or maybe a pass rushing outside linebacker like Jerry Hughes of T.C.U.

The Jets have two priorities this offseason - they need to get players who can apply consistent pressure on the quarterback, and they must find at least one more weapon for Mark Sanchez to work with.
Golden Tate had a fantastic Combine; he ran a 4.36 and notched a 10-0 broad jump. He's a great run-after-the-catch receiver, and would be perfect in the slot for the Jets to go along with Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery and the stout running game.
Other 2010 NFL Draft Possibilities:
1. Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB - The Jets may opt to cut Vernon Gholston in this uncapped year. I don't think that'll happen, but you certainly can't discount the possibility. If he doesn't show anything this training camp and preseason, he could be gone.
2. Jared Odrick, DE/DT - I don't think Jared Odrick will be here, but if he is, he's unlikely to get past the Jets. They need to add some talent and youth to their aging defensive line.
Draft Daddy: Damian Williams - sidste gang: Damian Williams, WR, USC
Jets passing offense was woeful, Williams has chemistry with Sanchez.
Bucky Brooks - NFL.com: Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech - sidste gang: Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State
The Jets need to add more weapons to their aerial attack to fully maximize Mark Sanchez's potential. Thomas is a dynamic playmaker with the size and athleticism to create mismatches down the field.
Rob Rang (nfldraftscouts.com) - CBS Sports: Jerry Hughes, OLB/DE, TCU - sidste gang: Damian Williams, WR, USC
For all of the successes Rex Ryan enjoyed in his inaugural season, the defensive whiz was unable to turn around a struggling Jets' pass rush. Hughes, an All-American defensive end, proved in workouts he had the agility to handle converting to outside linebacker and is moving up the board.
Draft Tek: Jerry Hughes, OLB/DE, TCU - sidste gang: Patrick Robinson, CB, Florida State
TCU's Jerry Hughes a great pick for Jets, who've identified getting to the Quarterback as their #1 draft need. The Jets tallied 32 sacks last year, slightly below average. But the sack list is very revealing - virtually all the teams that made the playoffs had a better sack total.

Cody going off the board in front of them took one option off the board. The decision came down to a rush linebacker or Golden Tate. Considering the defense is already the strongest part of the team, the Jets opt to take Golden Tate to give Mark Sanchez another option on offense. Tate would provide an immediate impact as a slot receiver and possibly returner whom the Jets would look to develop into a top receiver down the road.

Flere iagttagere påpeger hårdnakket, at Thomas ikke falder ud af første runde. Jeg er ikke sikker, men indtil videre vælger Jets ham som et nyt våben til Mark Sanchez

Ducasse er rå og kommer fra en lavere konference, men Jets har tid til at køre ham stilling som arvtager for 33-årige Alan Faneca
